uLesson offers free App to U-19 cricketers

EdTech outfit, uLesson, has offered free subscription to the U-19 cricket team members during their preparations for the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) U-19 World Cup African qualifiers.

Tayo Sowole, uLesson Vice-President, Distribution and Marketing, in a statement on Thursday said the gesture was to enable the players to cover the gaps denied them in the classrooms, due to their commitment.

The qualifiers for the 2022 U-19 ICC World Cup will hold from Sept. 27 to Oct. 7 in Kigali, Rwanda.

Sowole said: “A couple of them are missing classes to be able to help qualify the country for the Cricket World Cup.

“The uLesson App offers a robust curriculum that helps them to catch up on the misses off the pitch and covers the Nigerian curriculum in every detail, while the subjects are treated with simplicity.

“uLesson has blazed the trail in the EdTech and presently provides the most robust virtual classroom solution for the industry.

“The partnership we have with the NCF is to help the students leverage our solution to fill the void that absence in the classrooms might have caused in their academics, while they chase honour for the country.”

In his reaction, NCF General Manager, Emeka Igwilo, said the uLesson subscription had come in handy for most of them, who have been looking to carry their academics along with their cricket game.

“The NCF is very appreciative of the gesture that the uLesson team has extended to the U-19 team.

“It will help us to fulfil part of our goals of keeping the players grounded with their academics.

“The Federation, beyond appreciating this, is also looking for ways to make this a standard procedure for camps that involve school age teams,” Igwillo said.
