“I would like to remind players and officials to use the online resources in the World Rugby passport that provide guidance to players, coaches and administrators on what to do to prepare to return to the sport safely.” Dr. Joseph Kalanzi.

The Uganda Rugby Medical Society held a Back to Play workshop led by Dr. Joseph Kalanzi today at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds. Doctors from the different rugby teams, representatives of the referee society, facility managers and players attended.

The aim of this workshop was to show you what the back-to-play guidelines looked like in regards to SOPs and the different roles of rugby players, match officials and facility managers. This is in preparation for the resumption of the rugby league from March 6, 2021.

We also reviewed the different personal protective equipment and aspects related to sanitation, sterilization and disinfection, as well as what is done in training sessions and during games.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Joseph Kalanzi encouraged clinicians to educate players on the various return-to-play protocols to ensure everyone’s safety.
