1 U.S.-backed Kurdish Syrian forces resumed their military operation against Islamic State in the extremist group’s last pocket in Eastern Syria after suspending the campaign recently due to Turkish shelling on Kurdish positions, a monitor group said on Tuesday.

2 The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said well-trained fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have been stationed on the Eastern side of the Euphrates since October.
