By Ahmed Ubandoma
Dr Rukayyatu Gurin has taken over as the new Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President for Women’s Affairs and Administration in the Office of Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari.

She took over after a brief reception for the outgoing SSA in the office, Dr Hajo Sani, at the State House on Friday in Abuja.

Gurin said he was ready to work with the staff in the First Lady’s office to achieve the office’s goals.

She also called for the cooperation and understanding of the office staff to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.

Gurin wished the outgoing SSA a successful mandate in her new mission as Ambassador of Nigeria and Permanent Delegate to the United Nations Educational and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) in France.

In his remarks, Sani expressed his gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for giving him the opportunity to serve his country in various capacities.

She expressed her gratitude to the staff for the support and cooperation given to her during her tenure.

She therefore urged staff to provide the same support to the new appointee.

The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that Gurin before his appointment was director at the National Institute for Political and Strategic Studies in Kuru, Jos.

She has been a frequent lecturer at Maiduguri University, Deputy Director of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and Baze University, Abuja. (NOPE)
