Nsukka (Enugu State), Jan. 17, 2019 (NNN) A Transport magnate, Mr Samuel Onyishi, has advised Nigerian undergraduates to acquire skills while schooling to enable them to be job creators instead of job seekers on graduation.
4 Onyishi, who is the Chairman of Peace Mass Transit (PMT) Company, gave the advice on Thursday at a meeting with over 280 undergraduates from Ihe community in Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State.
8 The transporter said he convened the meeting to impart some of the knowledge that made him to be successful in life to the undergraduates.
10 “I hope you are not in higher institutions so that when you graduate you start going about looking for white collar jobs.
16 The PMT chairman told the undergraduates that success did not come by mere wishful thinking, but through hard work, dedication and constant prayer to God.
18 “For you to succeed, you must work hard, deny yourself of so many pleasures, and work while others are sleeping because the motto in the world of success is “work first before pleasure’’.
20 “It is very difficult to see a lazy person succeed in life because they will miss some opportunities to succeed while lazing around and attending to frivolities,’’ Onyishi said.
30 “Ihe community is one of the host communities of UNN but it is very sad that we have only produced two professors since the University’s inception in 1960.
32 “If we have utilised the opportunity we have, UNN is in our backyard we should have not less than twenty professors by now.
34 “I am delighted by the number of undergraduates in our community now, and I urge you to work harder to change this narrative in future so that we can have more professors,’’ he said.
40 They prayed God to continue to bless him and to replenish his finances. (NNN)
