The incident occur for Powerline Junction, wey dey lead go Ikorodu Roundabout. According to eyewitnesses, na one sand-laden tipper truck wey no get brake control ram into different vehicles, including Toyota Corolla (SMK 42 AJ), a bus, and even four tricycles. E be like say the driver dey race when wahala come burst.
Eyewitnesses talk say the truck dey run like say na Olympic race when e suddenly lose control. Na so e begin chop everything for road like say na buffet. Before rescue operatives fit come, three promising LASUSTECH students wey dey enjoy their life don lost their own chance to shine. Na two boys and one girl, and dem don carry their bodies go mortuary for Ikorodu General Hospital.
Sade, one of the students wey witness the whole scene, say the crash shock everybody for the area. ‘We no fit believe sey something like this fit happen for our busy road,’ she talk with tears for her eyes. No be small thing, my padi!
Seven other persons wey involve for the accident, including those wey dey ride tricycles, collect injuries wey no be small. LASTMA (Lagos State Traffic Management Authority) confirm say dem don quickly rush dem go hospital for treatment as dem dey try gather wetin happen.
Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, the LASTMA General Manager, don talk say this accident na wetin suppose avoidable. ‘Overspeeding, poor vehicle maintenance, and brake wahala dey cause this kind senseless deaths every time,’ him warn. Like say no be new story, abeg.
