Traffic accident leaves 3 dead and 38 injured in eastern Uzbekistan

– Three people were killed and 38 others injured in a traffic accident involving a bus and a truck in the Andijan region of eastern Uzbekistan on Saturday.
The crash took place between the two vehicles on the Tashkent-Andijan highway in the Andijan region at about 8:10 am local time (0310 GMT), the Uzbekistan Ministry of Health and regional traffic police said.
In dense morning fog, the bus driver entered the oncoming lane and collided with the truck, police said.
Three passengers died on the spot and another 38 with various injuries were hospitalized. Three of the injured had to undergo surgical operations, the Health Ministry said. ■
