Reports have emerged stating that at least three people have lost their lives due to a clash between the supporters of two rival political parties in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
APC and PDP Supporters Engage in Deadly Clashes
The clash reportedly occurred when supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ran into each other. The incident took place in the Ile-Tuntun area of Ibadan South East Local Government Area on Thursday evening, causing the deaths of three people while injuring around thirteen others.
Motorcycles and Vehicles Damaged
Several motorcycles and vehicles were reported to have been damaged during the melee, which resulted in the injured requiring medical attention in various hospitals. The deceased have been removed to the morgue.
PR Officer Confirms Incident
Adewale Osifeso, the Public Relations Officer of the state police command, confirmed the incident. He stated that the police were investigating the matter and would provide updates accordingly. Investigations are still ongoing at the moment.
