The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has completed about six specailised toilet facilities tagged: ‘TETFund 2019’ for students use at the University of Ilorin.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sulaymaniyah Abdulkareem, while taking delivery of the toilet facilities built by Messrs Nwayim Limited, the contractor, said the projects were completed on time.

Abdulkareem, who was represented by the Sub-Dean, Student Affairs, Dr. Alex Akanmu, said the Faculties and Centres where the toilets were located would make adequate use of them.

”The Faculties and end-users of the toilet facilities will take full possession of them and attach seriousness to their maintenance and supervision.

”The Student Affairs Unit identified 16 of these types of specialised toilets to cover other Faculties including the College of Health Sciences.

”This is just the beginning, as more will come.

”All Heads of Units should handle the facilities  well and report any fault observed to the management as the facilities have six months warrantee,” he said.

Abdulkareem said that the facilities have male and female toilets semi-detached, three toilet-shower rooms, water heater, wash-hand basin, hand wash and dryer with water overhead tank and Janitor’s office.

In his comment, the representative of the Audit Unit, Mr. Mustapha Saheed, appreciated the initiator of the projects and the contractor.

Also speaking, Mr. Adebayo Segun, the representatives of the Students Union, said that the union will assist the management in ensuring that the toilets were well-maintained.

He said that the union would also work out modalities for assisting in the maintenance of the projects.

In his own remarks, the representative of the contractor, Mr. Mai Tijjani, appreciated the support the University has given them to complete the project.

Tijjani said “the students who are to make use of it will be happy because it was a well-finished job with standard materials.”
