The defendants, 17-year-old Pelumi Osho; Oluwafemi Shobayo, 17, and Victor Elijah, 17, who live in Akowonjo, Lagos state, face one count of two counts of conspiracy and rape of which they have pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor’s Office, ASP. Victor Eruada, told the court that the defendants committed the crimes with some others still at large on December 25, 2021 at the Victoria Hotel, Akowonjo.
Eruada said the defendants lured the victim to the hotel and gang-raped her without her consent.
“The case was reported to the police and the defendants were arrested,” said the prosecutor.
According to the prosecutor, the crimes contravene Sections 411 and 260 of the 2015 Lagos State Penal Law.
The Chief Magistrate, Lateef Owolabi, granted all the defendants a bond in the amount of N500,000 with two guarantees for the same amount.
Mr. Owolabi said that the collateral must have a gainful employment with evidence of two years of paying taxes to the Lagos state government.
He postponed the case until February 15, by mention.
