  •   The National Council of Eritrean Americans NCEA held its fourth conference from August 1 3 in Dallas under the theme Building a Strong Nation Rooted in Grassroots Participation The opening ceremony was highlighted by minutes of silence to commemorate Eritrean martyrs the raising of Eritrean and US flags as well as a discussion focused on the council s diplomatic activities Commenting on the activities that the National Council of Eritrean Americans has been carrying out Mr Berhane Gebrehiwet Charg d Affaires of the Embassy of Eritrea called for strengthening organizational capacity to achieve better results Mr Yosuf Saiq president of PFDJ in the central region also held a seminar focusing on the objective situation in the motherland as well as regional developments Mr Saleh Ahmedin President of Eritrea National Union of Youth and Students also congratulated the fourth annual conference via virtual zoom from Eritrea On the occasion Mr Alazar Abraham Mr Abdlurahman Mohammed Nur Dr Mihreteab Gebrehiwet and Ms Tsige Nemariam provided information on the Decades of Grassroots Movements According to the report the conference was attended by more than 500 citizens from various areas of the United States

    The National Council of Eritrean-Americans (NCEA) held its fourth conference from August 1-3 in Dallas under the theme "Building a Strong Nation Rooted in Grassroots Participation."

    The opening ceremony was highlighted by minutes of silence to commemorate Eritrean martyrs, the raising of Eritrean and US flags, as well as a discussion focused on the council's diplomatic activities.

    Commenting on the activities that the National Council of Eritrean-Americans has been carrying out, Mr. Berhane Gebrehiwet, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Eritrea, called for strengthening organizational capacity to achieve better results.

    Mr. Yosuf Saiq, president of PFDJ in the central region, also held a seminar focusing on the objective situation in the motherland as well as regional developments.

    Mr. Saleh Ahmedin, President of Eritrea National Union of Youth and Students also congratulated the fourth annual conference via virtual zoom from Eritrea.

    On the occasion, Mr. Alazar Abraham, Mr. Abdlurahman Mohammed Nur, Dr. Mihreteab Gebrehiwet and Ms. Tsige Nemariam provided information on the Decades of Grassroots Movements.

  •   The National Union of Youth and Students of Eritrea held an evaluation meeting on activities for the first semester of 2022 as well as on the implementation of programs for the next six months At the meeting the national union reported that in the second half of 2022 the union will give priority to strengthening the awareness and organization of high school students According to the report presented at the meeting a training program on management and leadership for youth and youth workers has been organized in various parts of the country great effort has been made to strengthen the organization and contribution of youth clubs competition Buya general knowledge event has been organized in all regions of the country with the aim of developing young people s knowledge and awareness of the history of their country Regarding the future action plan the report cited that an effort will be made to develop the affection of youth education and reading strengthen the organizational capacity of youth workers strengthen awareness raising activities in schools and colleges coordinate government institutions and PFDJ interested in youth issues as well as develop relationships with diaspora youth organizations as well as design projects to develop youth creativity and innovation among others Commending the contribution of members and stakeholders in raising political awareness and capacity building of youth over the past six months Mr Saleh Ahmedin President of the National Union of Youth and Students of Eritrea called on the partners a reinforced participation in the implementation of the program for the next six months
