New Nigerian People's Party (NNPP) presidential candidate Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso has advised all eligible voters in the country to take time and read his plan which seeks to ensure good governance.
Kwankwaso delivered the advice on Friday in Abuja shortly after two raka'at Jumma'at prayers at the Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society mosque.
The former two-term Kano state governor said most of what he intended to do if elected Nigeria's president in 2023 was included in the plan.
The Nigerian News Agency reports that Kwankwaso, in his 160-page manifesto and policy document titled "My Commitments to You: The RMK2023 Plan," outlined 20 promises he would make a reality if elected.
He pledged to provide Nigerians with patriotic and competent leadership that would be guided by the proven principles of public life, such as selflessness, integrity, objectivity, responsibility, openness, honesty, and leading by example.
"We will be fair and equitable to all and ensure fairness and justice at all levels of government," Kwankwaso said.
For his part, the Chief Imam of the Al-Habibiyyah Mosque, Dr. Fuad Adeyemi, called on all Muslims to "do things well so that the country is well."
According to him, if all Muslims decide to do the right thing and help each other, it will bring stability to the country.
“We should learn to help each other, we should learn to support each other.
“Now that politics is present, we must be aware of the Almighty Allah in everything we do, who we choose and how we choose them.
"The fear of Allah should be our guide, not the benefits we represent," Adeyemi said.

Mazi Godwin Abumisi, the National President of NUP,gave the advice at the opening of its National Executive Council meeting on Thursday in Jos. Abumisi, who commended President Muhammadu Buhari for being pensioner- friendly, said members must vote someone that would continue in that regard.
”Our President has proven to be a pensioner-friendly president and as he prepares to leave office in 2023, we are duty-bound to elect a successor who will ensure our interests,as pensioners, are adequately catered for and protected.
”This is why we invited to this occasion, all the leading presidential candidates to come and and address this gathering as regards their plans for pensioners’ welfare and the nation in general.
”So, it is very important and instructive that Nigerian pensioners will choose leaders that will treat us as human beings and not spare tyres or parasites”, he said.
Abumisi explained that the choice of ”Pensioners Fate in the Unfolding Political Events in Nigeria ” as theme of the meeting, was deliberate, to capture the yearnings of pensioners and Nigerians in general.
Declaring the meeting open, Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau, represented by Mr Sunday Hyat, Head of Civil Service (HoS) of the state, thanked NUP for the choice of the state for its 2022 NEC meeting.
”The decision to host this event in Plateau is a demonstration of your confidence in the efforts of this goverment toward restoring lasting peace to the state”,he said.
Lalong explained that his administration had prioritised regular pension payments to beneficiaries, adding that the payments were up-to-date.
”We inherited over eight months pension arrears when we came on board in 2015, but today we have cleared everything.
”We have placed high premium on the welfare of our senior citizens; payment of pension is a frontline charge and we will not renege on that,” Lalong added.
In a brief goodwill message, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) promised to prioritise the the welfare of pensioners if elected in 2023. Kwankwaso made the declaration during inauguration of the Kano state NNPP’s presidential and governorship campaign office on Sunday in Kano. While addressing cheering supporters, Kwankwaso said by 2023, youths would smile and be back in school.
“Those of you that are supposed to be in primary school will be back while the outstanding ones will be at foreign universities,” he said.
He noted that no country could achieve greatness without giving its citizens quality education to enable them to contribute their quota towards the development of the country.
He promised to ensure adequate funding for the education sector.
Kwankwaso stated that the huge crowd that welcomed him in Kano signified that they were yearning for new set of leadership in Nigeria.
The presidential hopeful said that NNPP was poised to win the 2023 presidential election against the major political parties in Nigeria.
“This crowd signifies the need and urge for new leadership not only in the state, but the country at large.
“The biggest suprise will come when our party, the NNPP will win the 2023 presidential election God willing,” he added.
The former governor further said that the party had gathered enough momentum in winning elections in Kano and Nigeria, describing NNPP as the fastest growing political party in Africa.
He also cautioned party supporters against inflammatory and unguarded utterances.
The former minister of defence challenged Nigerians not to make further mistakes when choosing their leaders at the 2023 general elections.
The New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) says its Presidential Candidate, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, is in the Presidential race to win the 2023 election, not as a spoiler or pretender.
The National Secretary of the NNPP, Mr Dipo Olayoku, made this clarification in a statement on Monday in Abuja.
Olayoku made the assertions after an emergency meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), where some publications against the party and its presidential candidate were reviewed.
“The NNPP has again dismissed insinuations that the Presidential Candidate of the party, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, is a spoiler in the next year’s election,’’ the party’s scribe said.
Olayoku said that the NWC also reviewed the timetable for the kick-off of its presidential campaign.
“After reviewing some reports against the party and its Presidential Candidate, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, the NWC discovered that they were sponsored against the party.
“On Monday, a Weekly newspaper had raised the question: “Kwankwaso, a contender or spoiler?
“But, the NNPP Working Committee, however said, its presidential candidate is the one to beat in the 2023 election and, therefore, cannot be a spoiler or a pretender.
’’ He urged the media not to be used by some candidates to run down the NNPP and its presidential candidate.
Olayoku said that other political parties and their candidates had made the NNPP presidential pandidate their target.
According to him, no week would pass without them sponsoring one thing or the other in the media against the candidate or the party.
“Beyond the weekly publication raising question on whether Kwankwaso is a contender or spoiler, attention of the National leadership of the party was also drawn to a report of ‘Storm’ in the party by an online portal.
“The report alleged that a chieftain of the party is a mole, working for another party and its presidential candidate.
“According to the report, this has placed the chieftain against the NNPP Presidential Candidate, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso.
“However, l want state that nothing can be further from truth than this.
“We, in the NWC, consider these reports as the handiwork of fifth columnists, who have been trying to cause disaffection in the party and they will never succeed,’’ Olayoku said.
2023: Osun NNPP denies endorsing Tinubu 2023: Osun NNPP denies endorsing Tinubu NNPP By Victor Adeoti Osogbo, Sept. 24, 2020 The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Osun has denied claim that it has endorsed the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Sen. Bola Tinubu.
The Caretaker Chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Abdussalam Abdullateef, who made the rebuttal at a news conference on Saturday in Osogbo, urged Nigerians to disregard the claim.
Abdullateef said four members of the party, who purportedly endorsed the APC presidential candidate, were “on their own.
” According to him, the only presidential candidate known to the NNPP is Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, “who has all it takes to give our dear country a new lease of life come May 29, 2023 and beyond”.
“We in the Osun NNPP want to reaffirm our support for His Excellency, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the Presidential Candidate of NNPP.
“He is the most qualified of all the presidential candidates in Nigeria, in terms of education, work experience, political maturity and closeness to the grassroots,” he said.
Abdullateef stated that some past leaders of NNPP in the state were in the habit of using the party to trade for personal interest, which he said led to the change of leadership of the party.
“It may interest the world to know that the leadership of NNPP at the National level has decided to put a stop to this betrayal habit, resulting in the change of the State leadership in Osun State.
“The after effect of the change was the show of shame by four candidates of the party, who purportedly endorsed another presidential candidate as witnessed.
“If candidates of a political party endorse the presidential candidate of another party while still holding on to the mandates of NNPP, their action did not come to us as a surprise.
“Once again, we outrightly dissociate Osun NNPP from people of unstable credentials and anti-party characters.
“As for the genuine members of the party in the state, we further affirm that all candidates of NNPP in Osun State are working towards success at the 2023 polls”, he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that four candidates of NNPP in the state in the 2023 elections had on Wednesday declared support for the presidential candidate of APC.

” He said the candidate of NNPP had a robust antecedent as Senator between 2015 and 2019 and as a two-term governor from 1999 to 2003 and 2011 to 2015 and Minister of Defense between 2003 and 2007. Idahosa said with such credentials, Kwankwaso would bring to the fore experience that others might not be able to boast of and besides being an excellent administrator, “Kwankwaso is also a great talent spotter”.
“Therefore, you can be rest assured that as a president, he will galvanise and recruit the best brains from home and abroad to turn the country’s economy around.
“As governor, he met at least 200 dollars debt from his predecessor, and ensured he paid off all debts and did not borrow a dime in spite of the numerous legacy projects he carried out in Kano state.
’’ Idahosa said Kwankwaso would ensure human capital development and education would also be revamped under his administration.

While noting that elections were not a do- or- die contest, Nesiama stressed that the hope of the people had been rekindled with the presence of people like him in the race.
“The movement is to sensitise the people to the need for them to collect their PVC’s because without the card, you can not vote.
In other words, you have forefeited your rights to decide on who you want.
“I encourage people to replicate the zeal they displayed during the voters registration in the collection of their PVCs. They should protect their vote and ensure it counts.
“The people of Delta South have moved out to show that they love the Commodore of hope, they love the NNPP coming with new possibilities for them.
“That is the joyful thing.
I am elated.
I am overwhelmed and I thank God for that opportunity and for the impetus to do more.
“It’s obvious with the turn out of people that nobody was hired.
Nobody was bought.
People came out enmasse to support this movement,” Nesiama said.
Dr Boniface Aniebonam, Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustee of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has described Atedo Peterside’s ANAP Foundation as transactional outfit following its recent projection of the 2023 presidential election.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that ANAP Foundation had put the 2023 presidential election as a three-horse race.
It said the race was between the candidates of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi; All Progressives Congress, Sen. Bola Tinubu; and Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, after a new poll concluded in early September.
According to the result of the poll which was commissioned by the ANAP Foundation and conducted by NOI Polls Ltd., Obi will lead the race with 21 per cent of votes in the poll.
The outcome showed that Obi’s votes would give him an eight per cent lead over APC’s Tinubu and PDP’s Abubakar who each got 13 per cent of the votes to end up as joint second in the poll.
The presidential candidate of the NNPP, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, was fourth in the poll with three per cent of the votes.
Aniebonam in a statement on Friday in Lagos, described such projection poll as false and deceitful.
“What should worry Nigerians is the age of Atedo Peterside to be associated and directly involved in falsehood and deciet of the public in the name of politics.
“Peterside’s ANAP may be simply described as a transactional organisation.
“We can only but put them to prayers so that God may help them to find food through honourable and genuine means.
“The fact is obvious that NNPP is the party to beat in 2023.” He said that the emergence of Kwankwaso as NNPP presidential candidate had changed the political narratives of Nigeria.
“Watch out as we coast to victory in 2023,” he added.
Mr Ladipo Johnson, spokesperson of the Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso Presidential Campaign organisation, has dispelled speculations that the candidate is considering backing other candidates.Johnson was reacting to speculations on social media that the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Kwankwaso, was considering stepping down for either the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar or the APC candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. In a statement in Lagos on Sunday, Johnson said: “Kwankwaso is in the race to win.“I do not know how and why people come up with these assertions and speculations.Kwankwaso cannot and will not step down for anyone.” He said that Kwankwaso would contest the 2023 presidential election to the end as he joined the race of his convictions that he would make the desired change in Nigeria.“Kwankwaso is not in the race to negotiate. He has the capacity, track record for competence and the political will to lead Nigeria to greater heights.“Our candidate has no reason to step down. His path to victory and chances are very high.Competitive yes but his chances are very high considering his acceptance nationwide as a man of integrity.” He said that the party was ready for the campaigns and would transverse the entire country to convince Nigerians and to explain the reasons why they should support the NNPP.Johnson said it was time for Nigerians to take what they read on social media with a pinch of salt, stating that as campaigns drew nearer, a lot of lies would be unleashed to confuse Nigerians.“I advice we check all information and be sure its truth before believing them.“There will be a lot of campaign of calumny against politicians that are more acceptable to the people but we are ready to put such campaigners to shame.” He said that the NNPP as a party has a clear vision of its intentions for Nigerians and would not be dragged into unnecessary criticisms but would face the task of convincing Nigerians of the fresh ideas it would be bringing on board if elected.NewsSourceCredit: NAN
