2023 Elections: Our mission is to return PDP to power – Group

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) Voice Worldwide said Wednesday that its mission is to bring the party back to power in the 2023 general election.

The group said this at their New Years Eve party in Abuja.

PDP Voice Worldwide world leader Victor Lamai said it was time for Nigerians to brace themselves and realize their dreams of getting the PDP back in power.

According to Lamai, the party is working to ensure that the PDP is well positioned to take power in 2023 and deliver the necessary dividends from the democracy rooted in the party's constitution as established by the fathers.

Let me unequivocally urge us to prepare for the upcoming local government elections in the Federal Capital Territory to ensure that we poll and sensitize our people to the need to come out en masse.

“This is for them to participate in the exercise, as the outcome of this election will lay the foundation for our overall performance in 2023.

“Our party is the leading and most viable opposition with broad networks, strategic advantages and other means necessary to seize power from the current ruling party and put our country back on the path of development.

"Helping to achieve this noble dream is the essence of our meeting today to set the agenda for the group and our party as a whole," he said.

Lamai said the group believes very much in the party and resolved, as a support group, to ensure that the party wins in 2023.

He expressed the hope that the end of the year party would inspire ideas and discussions on ways to make PDP's voice around the world a better organization to claim its rightful position in Nigerian politics through the PDP platform. .

Ms Nkolika Mkparu, General Coordinator of the United For Better Nigeria Initiative (UBNI) and a member of PDP Voice Worldwide, said the group is mobilizing women and working with young people, especially those in tertiary institutions before 2023.

“The nation needs a PDP, a big change, they need the PDP to return to power to achieve effective change, the PDP is the party that can take the country to a better level and the country is looking for PDP actions.

“We are trying to make people understand that elections and votes matter, it is a one man vote, so it is important that everyone register and not just register, use their voter card.

“They need to choose the person they want to govern them because if we don't participate, the wrong person wins, but when we all get involved we will choose the right person to better lead the country.

"Nigeria is great, we have intellectuals in the country, so we can choose the right people."

Mkparu encouraged Nigerians to end money politics and seek out people who teach them how to fend for themselves rather than those who would give them money today and starve tomorrow.

Ibrahim Sani, an elderly statesman for PDP Voice Worldwide, said that the PDP would return in 2023 because Nigerians need a new staff.

Sani said that the PDP has come through a circle and is therefore ready to transform the nation and take it to a higher level so that the work of Nigeria's past heroes is not in vain.

He said that the PDP will rebuild the economy and curb the current challenges facing the nation, adding that "the PDP is in an advantageous position to offer hope, new aspirations to Nigerians."

“Young people, men and women, the elderly, everyone should make sure they have their voter card that entitles them to vote for their preferred PDP candidate in the different offices.

“So everyone should get their PCs so that on Election Day we give other parties red cards from the National Assembly to state assemblies, to governors' offices and to the president's office.

"We need a fresh start and PDP can give us that, Nigeria will move forward again and PDP will take care of it."

Mr. Saidu Bello, a member of PDP Voice Worldwide, said that the PDP would not have to mobilize Nigerians to vote for the PDP because they have already decided to vote for the PDP.

"The situation demands that all Nigerians have their own PVCs and vote for the PPD and work to defend their votes."

Bello said that all the nation needed was for the judiciary to be upright, to do what was necessary to ensure that the rule of law was respected.

Ogun Police arrested two suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate terrorizing Ijebu-Ode and its surroundings.

This is stated in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Police, PPRO, in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Monday in Abeokuta.

Oyeyemi said the two suspects, who were 46 and 28 years old respectively, were arrested after a series of kidnapping cases in Ijebu-Ode.

He said that as a result of this, the Police Commissioner, CP Lanre Bankole, ordered all DPOs in the area to catch those responsible within a period of time.

The PPRO said it was the arrest of the first suspect that led to the arrest of the other.

“In compliance with the PC directive, the DPO, Igbeba division, CSP Musiliu Doga and his crack detectives embarked on a technical and intelligence-based investigation that subsequently led to the arrest of the first suspect on December 8, at his home. of Ijebu-Ode.

“His arrest and confession led to the arrest of the second suspect at his hideout, also in Ijebu-Ode.

“When questioned, the two suspects confessed to having participated in four different kidnapping operations in Ijebu-Ode.

"They confessed to being part of a union that kidnapped a Salam Mojisola on December 6 at the entrance of her house on Akinsanya street, Mobalufon, Ijebu-Ode," he said.

"They also participated in the kidnapping of a Mrs. Adegoke on the Atan-Ijebu highway," the police spokesman said.

According to him, the two suspects specialize in exploration to identify and monitor their possible victims from their places of business to their homes.

He said that a Toyota Camry car had also been recovered, with registration: GGE 200 FN, which was his operational vehicle.

The police commissioner praised the resistance of the operations to crush the union.

He ordered the suspects to be transferred to the anti-kidnapping unit of the state intelligence and criminal investigation department for a discreet investigation.
