Regional Directors and other senior United Nations officials in Africa who are on a five-day working visit to Eritrea met and held talks today, January 28, with Mr. Osman Saleh, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and the Presidential Advisor, Mr. Yemane Gebreab, focusing on bilateral relations and mutual cooperation in identified sectors, as well as regional developments.
In the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Osman Saleh provided extensive information on the progress and future prospects of the relationship between Eritrea and the United Nations, the effort that Eritrea has been making in respect of human rights since the armed struggle for independence. and the campaign that has been carried out to demonize the image of the country.
In a separate meeting with the UN delegation, Mr. Yemane Gebreab, Presidential Adviser, underlined that the UN is not working inconsistently with its founding principles, its structure is not in accordance with the objective world situation and especially it is not serving developing countries and that Eritrea as a country that believes in change will work tirelessly for the transformation of the UN.

President Isaias Afwerki today received the Chinese high-level delegation headed by State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the State House.
Minister Wang Yi relayed a message from President Xi Jinping to President Isaiah inviting him to visit China for extensive talks on the bilateral Strategic Partnership.
President Isaiah, for his part, applauded China's monumental progress in the past 100 years under the leadership of the Communist Party of China for the benefit of the Chinese people and the world at large.
