Dana Air has announced its partnership with The ELOY Foundation to empower women in five states in the country.
The airline’s Head of Communication, Mr Kingsley Ezenwa, made this known in a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday.
Ezenwa explained that the states where the women would be empowered were Rivers, Abuja, Abia Lagos, and Kano states.
He added that the foundation’s business shower would move to Abuja on June 30, and would be in Kano and Abia on July 2 and July 7 respectively.
The airline’s official said Dana Air was one of Nigeria’s leading airlines with a varied fleet of nine aircraft and daily flights to major cities in Nigeria.
Speaking on the sponsorship, the Deputy CEO, Dana Air Sukhjinder Mann said the airline’s corporate social responsibility was impact- driven and broad- based and it was proud to be doing this in states in the country.
“Women are a massive asset to any country and we want to add to their development while seeing them grow their skills and small businesses to the benefit of the youth and children in the society.”she said.
Similarly, Miss Tewa Onasanya, Founder of The ELOY Awards Foundation,noted that the ELOY business shower was an educative business gathering specifically organised for women in business to inspire and encourage them to build thriving businesses.
Onasanya said the foundation was about empowering and challenging thousands of women to be more and do more by providing access to resources, business skills and tools.
“This is for them to be able to grow, transform and sustain their businesses, which will in turn benefit their families and the community at large.
“In subsequent years, we have been able to enroll women who are small business owners onto the one year Eloy foundation Sustainable Empowerment Program( SEP).
“They are mentored for six months, and will have access to all they need as entrepreneurs: Information, training, and affordable financing” she added.

Oluwatosin ‘Tosyn’ Bucknor, an on-air-personality (OAP )with Inspiration FM, has died aged 37.
Tosyn, as she was popularly known, was found dead by husband, Aurelien Boyer, a French national, when he arrived at home from work on Monday night.
A graduate of law from the University of Lagos, Tosyn was born with sickle cell anaemia which prompted her to start ‘These Genes Project’ to help people with the condition.
In November 2015, Tosyn and Aurélien Boyer had their traditional wedding surrounded by family and friends in Lagos followed by a white wedding in France.
The OAP, previously hosted the morning show at Top Radio FM.
She started her OAP duties with Tee-A at Eko FM. She was also an intern at Cool FM where she hosted the ‘Fun Hour Show’ on Saturdays.
Tosyn joined Top Radio after her youth service in 2009 as the only female handling a morning show.
In her lifetime, Tosyn Bucknor was nominated for several awards including Future Awards, ELOY Awards, and Best of Nollywood.
Following news of her death, fans and colleagues alike have taken to social media to express their shock.

Until her death, the OAP who also doubled as a vlogger, was a staff of Inspiration FM where she hosted her own morning talk show.
Tosyn’s father, late Segun Bucknor, who was a popular musician and journalist, died in 2017.

Nollywood actress and producer Omoni Oboli unveiled a new book, ‘The Stars Are Ageless’ to mark her 40th birthday.
Nigeria News Agency reports that Oboli, is one of the 27 participants selected from among 300 nominees from over 30 African countries for the 2018 Archbishop Desmond Tutu Leadership Fellowship.
She made the announcement on her Instagram handle @omonioboli.
She wrote, “It’s my birthday niccur! I deserve some accolades!!! I paid my dues!!! I work so hard! I wrote a book! #TheStarsAreAgeless.
“You can now add author to my name. Been working on this baby for a while and she’s finally here! Thank you Lord! 40 sure look good on me!
“Thanks to my publishers @narrativelscape we burnt the midnight candle on this one! Thanks to everyone that worked tirelessly to make this happen! Love you all.
“Copies available for sale from tomorrow, I can’t keep still,” she added as she unveiled the cover to her fans on her page.
NAN reports that Oboli began her formal movie career in 1996 with her first movie role in ‘Bitter Encounter’, where she played a secretary. Her next movie was ‘Shame’.
She then went on to play the lead female character in three major movies; ‘Not My Will’, ‘Destined To Die’ and ‘Another Campus Tale’.
After enjoying a brief career in 1996, Oboli left the movie industry to complete her university education. She married immediately after school and did not return to the industry until a decade later.
NAN reports that Oboli, who is a mother of three boys, is also a scriptwriter and director trained at the New York Film Academy.
She has a lot of screenplay credits to her name, including ‘Fatal Imagination’, ‘Being Mrs Elliott’, ‘The First Lady’, and ‘Wives on Strike’.
In 2010, she won the award for Best Actress Narrative Feature at the Los Angeles Movie Awards, and the award for Best Actress at the Harlem International Film Festival.
In 2014, she won Big Screen Actress of the Year award, at the 2014 ELOY Awards, for her movie ‘Being Mrs Elliott’.
She has directed several movies such as ‘Being Mrs Elliott’, ‘Okafor’s Law’, ‘The First Lady’, ‘Wives on Strike’, and most recently ‘Wives on Strike- The Series’.
