The Police Command, Bauchi State has confirmed the abduction of 25-year old pregnant woman, Rahila Dau at Gizaki Village of Lusa ward in Bogoro Local Government Area of the state.
The Spokesman of the Command, SP Ahmed Wakil who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Bauchi, said the incident occurred on July, 16 .
He said the incident was reported at Bogoro Police Division and the Commissioner of Police, Umar urged personnel to do everything possible to rescue the victim.
He added that the personnel, led by the DPO, visited the scene and recovered some 5 empty shells of bullets fired by the kidnappers.
He, however, assured that Police were on top of the situation in ensuring that the victim was rescued unhurt.
Meanwhile, Mr Iliya Habila, Chairman of Bogoro LGA, called on traditional rulers and community leaders in the area to be more watchful and strengthen their local security networks to curtail the influx of strangers into their domains.
He said this would avoid future occurrences of kidnapping and other crimes.

The Commissioner of Police in Jigawa, Mr Aliyu Tafida has warned police personnel against human rights violation, extortion and other unethical conducts while enforcing ban on spy number plate in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Lawan Shiisu, said this in a statement on Tuesday in Dutse.
Tafida gave the warning in furtherance to the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Usman Baba with regards to the ban on spy number plate in the country.
He directed Area Commanders (ACs) and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to professionally enforce the order and conficscate all spy number plates with immediate effect.
The CP advised those in possession of such number plates to submit it to the Police Headquarters or the nearest police station.
“Police officers and officers of other security agencies attached to VIPs who use spy number plates are to ensure compliance with the IGP’s directive or risk being arrested for disobedience to lawful order,” he said.
While reitrating commitment of the command to protect lives and property, Tafida urged the people to cooperate with police to enhance security in the state.

The Police Command in Kaduna State says its operatives re-arrested a suspected Kuje Prison escapee in Kaduna on Sunday at about 1930hrs.
The Command’s Spokesperson, DSP Mohammed Jalige, confirmed the re-arrest in a statement on Monday in Kaduna.
Jalije said the re-arrest was sequel to the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna Command, Mr Yekini Ayoku’s directive to all tactical commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs).
He said the officers were directed to mount purposeful surveillance across all inlets to Kaduna State in response to the recent infamous Kuje jail break.
“As instructed by Inspector-General of Police Alkali Usman the operatives, without prejudice to existing crime prevention measures, responded effectively which started yielding a positive result with the re-arrest of a suspected escapee on July 17,” he said.
He said that the suspect, one Shuaibu, 60, and an indigene of Kano State was apprehended by the police operatives at a location in Kaduna while on transit to Kano, based on active intelligence.
“The suspect on preliminary investigation revealed that he was part of the inmates who escaped during the recent attack on the Kuje medium security correctional centre.
Ayoku directed that necessary protocols be carried out before handing the suspect over to the Nigerian Correctional Service for proper placement.
He further tasked the officers not to relent in their efforts to effectively tackle all forms of crimes and criminality in critical areas of the state.

The Police Command in Plateau has commenced the enforcement of the ban on use of spy number plates by vehicle owners in the state, as directed by the Inspector General of Police (I-GP).
DSP Alfred Alabo, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Jos.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that the IGP, Usman Alkali, recently banned the use of spy number plates by vehicle owners across the nation.
He said that in line with directive of the IGP, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Bartholomew Onyeka, had also directed all heads of formations, units and area commanders to immediately commence arrest of defaulters.
”The Commissioner of Police Plateau command wishes to inform the general public, particularly owners of vehicles using the spy number plates, with or without authorisation, to henceforth stop using such plates with immediate effect.
”They are to respectfully return such number plates to the state command through the office of the PPRO of the command.
”All Area Commanders, DPO’s, HOD’s and Tactical Teams are hereby directed to go all out and effectively and professionally ensure the enforcement of the IGP’s directives without further delay,” he said.
Alabo said that the Commissioner warned all security personnel to respect the rights of citizens in the state while enforcing the ban He further directed that all Policemen attached to VIPs currently using the spy number plates, should ensure prompt compliance with the directives or risk being arrested for deliberately violating it.
He called on residents of the state to support the command to actualise the directive, adding that the decision aimed at promoting the security of lives and property of citizens

The Police Commissioner, Kaduna State Command, Mr. Yekini Ayoku, has ordered the full implementation of the ban on the use of spy plates in the state.
The CP gave the order in a statement from the Command's spokesman, DSP Mohammed Jalige, on Friday in Kaduna.
Ayoku said the order complied with Police Inspector General Usman Baba's directive to ban the use of police SPY license plates by vehicle owners across the federation.
“I have directed the Department of Operations, all Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Division Police Officers (DPOs) to professionally enforce the ban and ensure that all Vehicle Number Plates Police SPY currently in use in the state be confiscated.” "I have ordered that law-abiding citizens who are in possession of such license plates should send them to the nearest police headquarters or police formation," Ayoku said in the statement.
The CP also ordered police officers and agents from other sister security agencies attached to VIPs wearing SPY badges in the state to ensure compliance with the IGP order.
The PC calls for continued support and cooperation from one and all, as the order was aimed at strengthening the security of the state and the nation as a whole.
He charged police officers to prevent human rights violations, extortion and other unethical conduct during the operation.
“A task force has been formed with a mandate to tour all 23 LGAs in the state to monitor compliance,” Ayoku said.

The Katsina State Police Command says it has arrested Kamala Lawal, a suspected escapee from the recent prison attack in Kuje, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
Command spokesman SP Gambo Isah revealed this on Friday in Katsina as he paraded the suspect and other alleged criminals.
SP Isah said that based on credible information, DPO Danmusa and his team carried out raids on suspected criminal hideouts in the Danmusa Local Government Area (LGA) and managed to arrest the suspect.
” On July 14, around 6:00 pm, based on credible information, we managed to arrest Kamala Lawal, 33, from Unguwar Sale Quarters, Danmusa LGA, a suspected escapee from Kuje Prison, Abuja.
“In the course of the investigation, the suspect confessed to escaping from Kuje prison, Abuja, during the recent breakout.
“Some quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp was also recovered in his possession during the police search.
"The suspect will be handed over to the Nigerian Correctional Service for necessary action." the spokesman said.
He added that the Commando also succeeded in arresting a notorious armed robber syndicate that was terrorizing the Katsina metropolitan area and its surroundings.
“Nemesis met the duo of Abdulrazak Isyaku, 25, and Muhammad Abubakar, 18, both from the Kambarawa area who specialize in breaking into homes in Katsina and committing armed robberies at night.
“The suspects were detained based on credible intelligence, in Kambarawa Quarters, Katsina and in the course of investigation, two stolen motorcycles in their possession were recovered.
“Both confessed to committing several armed robbery attacks in the state and named Muhammed Lalo, now a fugitive, as their accomplice.
The investigation is ongoing".

SP Isah further revealed that the commando arrested Bello Sale-Jino, a notorious alleged leader of the kidnap-for-ransom syndicate and suspected terrorist, along with his three gang members.
“The Commando also managed to arrest six suspected killers of Mallam Dayyabu from Majifa village, Kankara LGA.
"We also managed to arrest three other suspects who attacked Sterling Anikezie and Ayingor on Sunday, all in Malumfashi city and robbed them."

The Niger Police command has started the confiscation of SPY license plates in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued on Friday in Minna by the command's Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abidun.
He said the crackdown was “a sequel to the total ban on the use of spy license plates throughout the country without exception of being authorized or not, according to the instructions of Police Inspector General Alkali Usman.
“The Command wishes to caution members of the public, particularly owners of vehicles using approved or non-approved spy license plates, to desist from using such license plates and kindly return the license plates to the nearest police station.
”.
Police Commissioner, Niger Command, Monday Kuryas, had ordered the Department of Operations, Area Commanders and DPOs in the state to start enforcing the ban with immediate effect.
He specifically directed the recovery of all license plates from any vehicle found to be in violation of the ban and forwarded said recovered license plates to command headquarters.
The Commissioner also urged vehicle owners to cooperate with police and other security agencies in the enforcement exercise.
He said the exercise was aimed at strengthening internal security arrangements in the state to ensure a more secure environment.

The Police Command in Delta has apprehended 25 suspected cultists in the state and recovered some items from them.
Spokesman of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday in Warri.
Edafe said that the hoodlums were nabbed on Sunday by a combined team of the State Anti-Cult Unit (SACU), Ibusa Division, and local vigilantes in Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state.
He said that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ibusa Police Station, was informed that the suspects were having their initiation at Zion Road, Ibusa.
Edafe added that the Commissioner of Police (CP) in the state, Mr Ari Ali, immediately directed SACU and the local vigilantes to raid their hideout.
“On July 10, 2022, at about 0130hrs, the DPO, Ibusa Police Station, got information that men of the Black Axe Confraternity, also known as “AYES”, were having their initiation at Zion Road, Ibusa.
“The CP directed a joint team of SACU, Ibusa division, and local vigilantes to apprehend the suspects.
“The team swung into action, raided their hideout and arrested 25 male suspects.
“They recovered three Aye confraternity regalia, one military vest, a pair of Aye confraternity stockings and three cut-to-size locally-made guns.
“Also recovered were: four live cartridges, a gallon of substances suspected to be liquid hard drugs, four vehicles and four motorcycles,” he said.

The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr Lawal Abubakar, has tasked the police personnel in the command on respect for human rights while enforcing the ban on the use of SPY number plates.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, said this in a statement issued on Thursday in Enugu following the beginning of the enforcement in the state.
The commissioner charged supervisory officers to ensure that police operatives carrying out the enforcement duty do so with utmost sense of diligence and professionalism, devoid of all forms disrespect for the rights of the citizens.
He directed the X-Squad Section of the Command to monitor the enforcement process and ensure that the police operatives completely comply with the letter and spirit of the directive.
“This is in compliance with the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Usman, order dwelling on the nationwide non-exempted and total ban on the use of SPY number plates and the consequent revocation, seizure and reversal to the original registered number plates by vehicles’ owners.
“The command has directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Heads of all Units of the Command, to give full effect to the directive, by confiscating all SPY number plates currently in use in the state.
“In line with the directive, the CP has further ordered all police officers and those of other security agencies attached to VIPs who use the SPY number plates in the state, to ensure prompt compliance with the directive.
“Or otherwise risk being arrested for violation of the order,” he said.
He enjoined residents, particularly those who hitherto had been using the banned number plates to cooperate with the police in this regard, “as the ban is solely aimed at strengthening security in the state and the nation at large”. (

Gunmen on Wednesday attacked Boto village in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State, killing one person and abducting three others.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Police Relations Officer in the state, Ahmed Wakili, on Thursday in Bauchi.
“We got a distress call that gunmen believed to be kidnappers invaded Boto village.
“The Police Commissioner, Umar Sanda immediately directed the Divisional Police officer, Tafawa Balewa Division to swing into action.
“The DPO mobilised his men and rushed to the village but the gunmen had left with the victims.
“Our men are now combing the bushes in pursuit of the criminals. In Sha Allah, we will arrest them and bring them to justice,” he said.
Wakil said the command had in the past acted swiftly to rescue kidnapped victims and is ready to do same in this situation.
The spokesman also assured the family members that the kidnapped victims would be rescued and reunited with their families.
He called on the general public to cooperate with security agencies in the fight against insecurity. (
