The visual accompanies the release of her first album in five years.

SZA is thinking about a past love in her song “Nobody Gets Me”. On Friday, while celebrating the release of her album SOS de ella, the R&B superstar dropped a new music video for Track 14.

“How am I supposed to let you go/Only eat me when I’m with you,” sings SZA in the chorus. “Nobody understands me, you do.”

The black and white image, directed by Bradley J. Calder, captures the singer as she sings the lyrics of the beautiful ballad from various rooftops in New York and walks through some streets and alleys of the Big Apple while reminiscing about a past love.

Tracks featured on SZA’s album include songs like “Ghost in the Machine” featuring Travis Scott and Don Toliver, along with a posthumous collaboration with “Ol’ Dirty Bastard.”

“It was definitely like, ‘I doubt this is allowed to be on the album,’ but surprisingly it was,” he said of “Forgiveness.” “I spoke with his estate. It really came from a Rodney Jerkins documentary, and he was sweet enough to let me use that. [Ol’ Dirty Bastard] I was freestyling in the back of the footage so I took the audio.”

SZA’s new project was described by a Rolling Stone review as “even nicer” than 2017’s beloved CTRL.

“The songs are looser and more confident,” the review read. “And the worthy themes (retribution, nostalgia, ego) equate to the juiciest, most intimate personal revelations from the real-world confessional.”
