Dem don hand over this big job to James Gunn, the man wey sabi manage Marvel stories. Everybody bin dey hope say he go put sense back for Superman matter after 2016 wahala. But wetin we see? It look like dem just pack plenty nonsense together and call am a movie.
The movie start with plenty backstory wey go confuse anybody wey no ready for am. Instead of the sweet re-telling of how Superman come from Krypton like Moses wey dey come save America from Great Depression wahala, we dey see him dey quarrel with himself as usual. Na just dey powerful Superman wey fly go save people for Jarhanpur as dem dey fight Boravia, wey we fit chop see say na fake country and e no get any political meaning.
For the plot, Superman dey use him superhero strength try help Jarhanpurians, but na him wey dey get plenty wahala too. Lex Luthor wey Nicholas Hoult dey play don turn all e wahala back to am, even though him no wan admit say na him dey spoil everywhere. If nobody talk am, you fit forget say Superman dey get as e do for this film.
Meanwhile, as Clark Kent, we see am dey fight relationship wahala with Lois Lane. Mehn, if you wan reason am, e no too different from Courteney Cox wey dey waka around Friends. E be like say James Gunn no fit carry fresh face for dis movie. How many times we go dey see same familiar faces?
You fit hear the big John Williams tune from the original movie, but the feeling no dey. Na still that same old CGI wey dey make dey collapse buildings for fight scenes. At dis point, person go dey wonder how many superhero movies dem fit still make and end with same story style.
As e be now, the new Superman movie no dey give people any new gist, e just dey follow old story wey don tire everybody. The original Superman to come save the day dey turn to just another comic show wey full with CGI wahala wey no make sense. If dis na the start of new DCEU, my guy, we dey okay o, but e no clear how that go happen.
Na so far, e be like say Superman dey land for box office wey don target $100 million opening, wetin fit no matter if the movie no make sense. E fit get record-breaking opening, but I dey ask myself: wetin dey really happen for dis new Superman world? If na fresh vibe wey we dey find, where e go land?
