Seplat Energy Don Promise Extra Gas Supply for Nigeria LNG Plant

Lagos, Nigeria – Nigeria LNG, the top gas producer for Africa, go soon get 12 percent extra gas supply as Seplat Energy don drop new agreement wey dem sign. Dis deal go start to work as from third quarter of dis year, according to Effiong Okon, wey dey lead Seplat subsidiary wey manage one major gas project wey dey north Nigeria LNG facility.

Okon talk say Seplat go dey send more than 150,000 tons of gas every month to Nigeria LNG. Dis gas supply go help Nigeria LNG wey don dey fight pipeline vandalism and fuel theft wey don reduce their gas supply sharply lately.

“Dis deal na big step for us as we sign am wey go fit reduce operational wahala wey we dey face,” Okon talk. “Dis na only second time wey Nigeria LNG dey source gas from third-party supplier.”

Dis new gas supply agreement dey come as Nigeria LNG dey find way to boost their production after suffer serious set-back from pipeline issues. Dem wan use dis new flow of gas to stabilize their operations, wey dey face pressure from fuel thieves.

Okon also add say dem dey finalizing the technical and business side of the deal, and dem dey expect gas to start flowing by the third quarter of dis year, which go be good news for dem. Dis agreement go also bring additional revenue for Seplat’s $700 million ANOH gas plant, wey don dey idle because of pipeline issues. “Dis deal na strategic move,” Katlong Alex, analyst for African Energy Council talk. “E go help Seplat solve infrastructure challenge and also help Nigeria LNG with their gas supply wahala.”

Seplat don see 50 percent increase in their gas production after dem acquire Exxon Mobil assets wey dey Nigeria. Dis new deal go provide both company with the chance to stabilize their production.
