Senator Orji Uzor-Kalu (APCAbia) advised individuals to stop sponsorship violence in the Southeast because it is not in the interest of the people.

Kalu, also the chief Senate whip, in a statement Tuesday in Abuja.

He said the security problem in the Southeast region was strange, saying the Igbo were not known to burn houses to punish their enemies.

The lawmaker has questioned the justification for the assassination of security officials deployed to protect individuals, their families and loved ones.

Kalu urged the brains of violence to rethink their actions, while advising them to choose a legitimate way to voice their grievances.

“The police officers and soldiers killed are fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, children and relatives.
“Anyone who has lost a close relative knows what it means to lose parents or children.

“I’m more concerned with the lives lost due to the ripple effects on families.

“Our people are not known to burn houses to punish their enemies, destroying police stations and infrastructure can never be the best way to voice grievances,” he said.

Kalu added: “We must neither by words nor by actions continue a repeat of the horrific genocide of 1967.

“We should come to understand that every war ends on a table, instead of destruction before it comes to the table.

“Isn’t it wiser to come to the table and avoid destruction? We need infrastructure, we need investments, we don’t need hostilities.

“So we beg you to stop and embrace the peace. ” (NOPE)
