Nottingham, England
Omo, long story short, Nottingham Forest don change manager again? Biko, na third manager this season! Enter Sean Dyche, the new gaffer wey don take over from Ange Postecoglou. Him come replace Postecoglou wey only spend 39 days for the job before dem sack am. Na wah!
Postecoglou no fit win fans’ heart, as dem dey chant say: ‘Sack am for morning’ during one Europa League match wey dem lose 3-2 to Midtjylland. Na dis kind wahala make Forest management decide say enough is enough, we wan try fresh blood.
Dyche, wey dey recall football days for 1980s, no even play for the first team, but him get dream to make fans happy again. E talk say: ‘We wan get back on the front foot, give crowd wetin dem go fit cheer for, and make dem feel part of the team again.’ (Fans no dey here for wahala, abeg!)
Na true talk! Last season, Forest finish seventh for Premier League, but this season, dem dey drop like hot yam, currently sit for 18th position. No win since dem start the league? That one no sweet at all!
Dyche go face Porto for him first match on Thursday, then dem go dey waka go Bournemouth on Sunday. This team no fit keep clean sheet for 20 games? E be like say dem dey follow Manchester United style of conceding goals! Una fit remember say dem last keep clean sheet since April? Na serious matter!
Dyche don yarn say make dem get back to basic football; make dem dey strong, fit, and organized as dem waka enter the pitch. ‘I want dem to have freedom to play,’ him add. E dey optimistic say plenty talent dey among the players, and hin wan find way to balance their risk and rewards.
But remember, as Dyche talk: ‘No dey focus too much on past. We fit respect am, but how we go fit build future?’ Na wetin all of us dey look for now.
Dyche go dey ginger dem to step up their game. He don also reason say the team be work in progress. When e dey grow for Forest from 1987-90, dem dey top six of the old First Division, plus dem don carry Littlewoods Trophy wey na EFL Cup before.
But right now, dem still dey find their way. ‘Fans know say we no dey there yet, and the club sabi this too,’ Dyche talk. ‘No wahala, e go come; we go build momentum.’ (E be like sey this man get confidence pass motivational speaker!)
Dyche don spend years for football; after leaving Forest, e go play for different clubs like Chesterfield and Bristol City. Last wey e dey work na Everton before dem part ways in January, after him 10 years run for Burnley. Wetin be say, the man don sabi wetin hin dey do.
As Dyche dey reminisce about hin Forest days, e talk say: ‘I get soft spot for this club and na here my career begin under the great Brian Clough.’ (E no lie, we all sabi say Clough na legend for football!)
Now as the new manager, Dyche dey ready to show say na wetin go happen for this new chapter.
