Sallah: Buhari donates N1m, cows and rice to NYSC members in Daura

By Abbas Bamalli

President Muhammad Buhari on Tuesday donated one million naira, two cows and 20 bags of rice to Daura to members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in the Daura local government area in the state of Katsina.

NYSC spokesperson Alex Obemeata in Katsina, who revealed this in a statement Tuesday, said the president’s gesture was handed to them when they visited him in Daura to celebrate Eid-El- Kabir.

“It was another joyous Sallah day for the corps members serving in Daura, the country house of the President, as he was at his home for the Sallah celebration in 2021.

Usually, when the President is at home for the celebration of Sallah, the members of the body come to his home to welcome him and wish him ‘good Sallah’.

“Likewise, on July 20, 2021, the body members in Daura were at the president’s house for Sallah’s greetings, and it was a celebration of the century.

“They were given two cows, 20 bags of rice and 1 million naira. The NYSC spokesperson revealed.

He said the president congratulated the NYSC members and urged them to be good ambassadors for their country and to commit to the development of Nigeria.

According to Obemeata, state coordinator Alhaji Ahidjo Yahaya, on behalf of NYSC director general Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, thanked the president for the gesture.

He said President Buhari’s action would encourage Nigerians to believe in the spirit of national unity and integration, which the NYSC championed and preached.

Ahidjo prayed for God’s protection and good health for the president. (NAA)
