Tokyo, Japan — Ryo Tatsuki, popular Japanese manga artist, don don high-profile attention over her alarming predictions, especially one set for July 2025. On top of her track record for predicting the deadly 2011 Tohoku earthquake, her latest forecast dey cause serious concern among tourists and travel agencies alike.
As recent events show, predictions no dey joke; Tatsuki’s past includes many major events like the Kobe earthquake and deaths of icons. Her manga, titled ‘The Future I Saw’, has captured a mainstream audience, selling around 900,000 copies globally and translated into different languages.
With the rising anxiety surrounding her July 2025 prediction — one that details a massive undersea rupture forming between Japan and the Philippines — travelers are now cancelling trips. According to the Hong Kong-based travel agency WWPKG, bookings to Japan dropped by almost 50% during the Easter holidays. Many potential tourists now dey rethink their plans to visit, citing fear and uncertainty over Tatsuki’s forecasts.
In her chilling comic illustrations, Tatsuki vividly describes the ocean near Japan as “boiling,” alluding to possibly catastrophic events linked to an underwater volcanic eruption or seismic activity. The designated danger zone covers a diamond-shaped area that includes Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan, and the Northern Mariana Islands, notorious for its earthquake activities.
Her latest warning only intensifies the worries, especially after the Chinese embassy in Tokyo cautioned its nationals about potential natural disasters, adding another layer of anxiety to travelers. CN Yuen, managing director at WWPKG, noted that growing fears regarding Tatsuki’s predictions have started to adversely impact travel plans even more.
However, while some people believe in Tatsuki’s abilities like other famous seers, others dismiss her predictions as mere coincidence. Nevertheless, the anticipation and attention surrounding her forecasts highlight an undeniable intrigue worldwide.
