1 Top sprinter Mikhail Idrisov and two other Russian track and field athletes have been banned for four years for doping rule offences, Russia’s anti-doping agency RUSADA said on Wednesday.
2 The 100m runner Idrisov was banned retroactively from June 19, 2015 onwards, and the others sanctioned are lower-tier athletes Evgeny Khokhlov and Tamara Shchemerova.
3 RUSADA, which did not give further details, however, stated that “anti-doping rules violation led to the sanctions by Russia’s athletics federation.”
4 The entire Russian athletics team apart from U.S.-based long jumper Darya Klishina was banned from August Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in connection with doping practices in the country.
