Rotimi Amaechi says Rivers residents have rejected Governor Wike
Amaechi calls for INEC to be neutral
Former minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has stated that the residents of Rivers have rejected the state’s Governor, Nyesom Wike. At an event in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni LGA of Rivers, Amaechi criticised Wike and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be neutral in the forthcoming guber poll.

Fubara and Cole to go head-to-head
Siminialayi Fubara, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), will be up against Tonye Cole, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, on Saturday.

Cole will bring development to the state, says Amaechi
Speaking on Tuesday, Amaechi argued that Cole would bring much-needed development to the state. The former governor claimed that his administration invested in various sectors and that Wike cannot boast of having done similar projects.

Criticism of Wike
Amaechi also criticised Wike for saying he was drinking a 40-year-old whiskey when PDP members were protesting at the INEC headquarters in Abuja. The former governor went on to compare his own achievements with Wike’s record.
Invest in Cole, says Amaechi
Amaechi urged voters to invest in Cole, emphasising his background in business. The former governor argued that Cole would bring positive change to the state.
“When you see Tonye Cole who is a businessman, from business into politics, why won’t you invest in him? This is your time, come out and vote. When we win, things will change.”
