Lambar Tureta

According to him, the projects aim to combat perennial flooding and drowning in Lambar Tureta, Tureta Gari and Duma, as well as gully erosion in Loha and Tsamiya districts.

Lambar Tureta

“The earthen dam at Lambar Tureta is also being dredged and widened to prevent it from overflowing and causing flooding,” he said.

Tureta-Danchadi Bodinga

Shehu-Kakale also said the government was building the 25 km Tureta-Danchadi Bodinga highway, saying it will benefit more than 12 mostly agrarian communities.

They include: Dankilo, Hausawa, Satiru, Alu-Dange, Kindiru, and Danchadi, among others.

The legislator further said that the project would improve security, boost access and production of food/livestock, and reinforce a large number of socioeconomic activities in the communities.

“It will also shorten distances to and from various communities in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states, among others.

Green Projects

Shehu-Kakale said, “I must thank the Green Projects office and the Federal Ministry of Public Works for listening to our request and embarking on this project.

“The first 3 km phase has been paved and we are working hard to obtain additional funds to complete and pave the road.

Meanwhile, Shehu-Kakale also said that it had implemented personal empowerment projects worth more than N300 million within the period under review in 11 sets of empowerment programs.

Sultan Muhammadu Bello Industrial Zone Development

In this direction, in one of those 11 programs carried out in the city of Dange on August 28, no less than 900 indigent voters benefited from a special empowerment plan called: “Sultan Muhammadu Bello Industrial Zone Development”.

According to him, 300 unemployed have benefited from the regime of each of the three local governments that make up the constituency.

Shehu-Kakale added that the items distributed included 42 motorcycles, 35 freezers, 40 sewing machines, fashion and beauty items, and women’s sewing machines, among other things.

Others included plows for agriculture, 40 water pumping machines, 60 generator sets, improved seeds, inputs, and implements.

Similarly, other items distributed were welding machines, solar light poles for schools in Almajiri, the excavation of six wells, as well as the execution of various water and sanitation projects.

“These items were given as part of efforts to resurrect traditional cottage industries such as weaving, blacksmithing, sewing, carving, butchering, tie-dyeing, and more.

Sultan of Sokoto

“’This was done in memory of the great Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Bello, who had an economic policy for the late Sokoto caliphate based on models of functional educational and craft industrial development,” Shehu-Kakale added.

Shuni and Bodinga

Shehu-Kakale further listed projects to include a block of four classrooms each in Dange/Shuni and Bodinga local governments and a forthcoming one in Tureta LGA as part of efforts to complement government efforts in education financing.
