Recreation: Kwara Govt begins beautification of llorin garden

1 The Kwara Government has commenced the beautification of Flower Garden in Ilorin as part of efforts to make the place a beautiful recreational centre for residents of the state.

2 This is contained in a statement signed by the Spokesperson of the Ministry, Mr Yakub Aliagan, on Thursday in Ilorin.

3 It stated that the Commissioner for Environment, Mrs Remilekun Banigbe, assured that the project would promote the look of the garden, as a green area for relaxation and healthy social interaction.

4 “It will further beautify the state, generate revenues for the government, and promote work-life balance for the citizenry who can visit the garden for leisure purposes,” it stated.

5 The spokesperson described the Flower Garden landscaping and beautification as another effort of Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration to reposition Kwara, prioritise work-life balance and social needs of its people.

6 He said that the garden, which had long been a shadow of itself,l would be revamped for the benefits of the people of Kwara.

7 “The beautified garden will create new jobs and serve as an attraction site for economic development of the society.

8 “A section of the garden had been designed to house a Book Club for children, thereby promoting reading culture among younger people in the state,” he said.

9 The commissioner commended the governor for the huge investment in the provision of social amenities, infrastructure and other laudable programmes that have impacted positively on the lives of the people.
