Rangers ease past Kilmarnock with VAR playing a part
Rangers secured a comfortable victory over Kilmarnock at Ibrox, reducing Celtic’s lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to six points.

The hosts took the lead after just six minutes through a Connor Goldson goal from a corner, and they quickly added to their tally through Fashion Sakala and a James Tavernier penalty, awarded after a VAR review for handball against Kilmarnock defender Ryan Alebiosu.

The visitors pulled a goal back through Jeriel Dorsett’s header, but failed to register an away win in the league this season.

The officials were kept busy throughout the match, with VAR involved in the penalty decision and several other incidents, including a challenge by Borna Barisic and a potential penalty for Kilmarnock.
