Railways to reduce number of trips on Abuja-Kaduna route for maintenance work

The Nigeria Railway Corporation, NRC, announced on Sunday that it will reduce the number of trips on the AbujaKaduna road from October 19 to 21.

Its chief executive, Fidet Okhiria, said in a statement that the reduction in the number of trips had to carry out scheduled maintenance.

He said that instead of the 10 daily trips, there would be four trips only on October 19 and October 20.

He added that on Thursday, October 21, there would be eight trips.

“Full rail services will resume on Friday, October 22,” Okhiria said.

NRC management apologized for any inconvenience the reduction in the number of trips may cause to passengers.

Nigeria’s news agency reports that the NRC recently introduced an additional diesel multiple unit on the road, which increased the number of train trips from eight to 10 per day.
