Dec 07 (THEWILL) – The Pension Transition Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) expressed its appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for the successes recorded in the pension administration in Nigeria.

Dr. Chioma Ejikeme, Executive Secretary of PTAD, had this to say in Calabar during a Stakeholder Engagement Forum organized for pensioners in the South-South Zone of the country.

He said the president has prioritized the well-being of the country’s retirees and advised inmates to engage with contenders at the federal and state levels, so they know who has a stake in their well-being.

He said this is important because retirees need to have a president who listens and the country cannot afford to go back to the time when retirees were owed for months.

Comrade Benjamin Ettah, National South-South Vice President of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners (NUP), in his reply, said that the achievements of the PTAD have been marvelous.

He thanked the President for taking an interest in the welfare of the pensioners and added that the PNU has resolved to honor him for his concern for the welfare of the pensioners.

Also speaking, Dr. Margaret Idiong, a 2007 retirement from Uyo University Teaching Hospital, said the narrative has changed with PTAD.
