PSG Planning €60 Million Bid for Manuel Ugarte While Eyeing Lucas Hernandez’s Move
Paris Saint-Germain is determined to strengthen their squad after an underwhelming run in Europe this season. They are now reportedly putting forward a €60 million offer for Sporting CP’s Manuel Ugarte through agent Jorge Mendes.
Record claims that PSG wants to sign the defensive midfielder, who is currently considering the move to the French capital. Although the details of the offer are not yet confirmed, the fee is not likely to be a significant issue for PSG, given their financial power.
In addition to Ugarte, PSG is also targeting Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez. L’Equipe confirms that the club installed terms with Hernandez, and the player is open to making a shift to Paris.
PSG needs a left-footed center-back as Presnel Kimpembe struggles with injuries. Hernandez’s versatility would provide adequate options for PSG’s defense, thanks to his ability to play as a left-back and left center-back.
Munich, on the other hand, might not be interested in selling Hernandez, whose contract runs until June 2024. Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic intends to present Hernandez with a new three-year deal and persuade him to stay at the club.
PSG has intensified its search for players this summer, amid doubts about Kimpembe and Sergio Ramos’s futures. The former Real Madrid star has been associated with a move to the Middle East, where he might reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo.
As the transfer season progresses, PSG wants to be in pole position to acquire their targets. They hope to land at least one of either Ugarte or Hernandez to boost their squad for the next campaign.
