Mr Hayatuddeen Makarfi, the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) Governotship Candidate in Kaduna State, has promised to adopt “root-cause” approach to tackle insecurity if he emerges as the State Governor in 2023.
Makarfi made the promise on Wednesday while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria in Kaduna.
Makarfi noted that the best way to nip insecurity and insurgency in the bud was not to fight its effects, but adopt measures to address the root causes.
“There was a time we lived together in love and respected each other, at that time, religion was not a basis or criteria for relationships, but was based on love, compassion and empathy.
“The approach to tackle the menace is ideological and not a face-to-face fight.
“Ideological wars are won when you go back to the root causes, sit on the table to dialogue and reach compromises that would be beneficial to everyone,” Makarfi added.
The candidate also promised to adopt an all inclusive governance to end the existing divide across the ethno-religious affiliations in the state.
“The PRP government will employ bottom-to-top approach to governance and by this, everyone in Kaduna will know that government is of the people, by the people and for the people.
“We will bring people that are not there for themselves, but for the people, irrespective of party affiliations.
“The PRP has a template of credibility, pedigree and capacity to take Kaduna State from where we are to where we ought to be in 21st century civilisation and an economic hob of West Africa,” Makarfi said.
Makarfi, a professional Quantity Surveyor, had served in various capacities in the present administration of Gov. Nasir El-Rufai as Special Assistant on Due Process and Assistant General Manager Operations, at the Kaduna State Public Works Agency between 2015 and 2016. nanmews.
