This drama start around 2:00 p.m. and na so dem shut down the runway sharp-sharp.

According to the big man for the matter, Michael Achimugu wey be Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection for the NCAA, dem don clear the aircraft and everything don go back to normal. He talk say, “I was informed that a private aircraft experienced a tyre burst on landing. But it has been cleared off the runway and operations are back to normal.” Na good to hear say no one waka enter trouble.

But wait o, what make the tyre burst? E be like say the matter still dey carry some question marks. Authorities never drop any official statement on top that one. And make we no forget, dis runway shutdown no be first. Just few months ago, other drama happen wey make dem close the runway for maintenance, and e cause flight delays like wetin pass jollof rice on plenty people’s plate.

For those wey never sabi, dis na the second time as for November 12, 2023, one flight wey operate by Aero Contractors also land for dis same Abuja airport, only for the nose wheel to get stuck inside grass like say na small child wey dey play for compound. Dem also close the runway that time. The aviation gist just full ground like say na market day.

As we dey follow the gist, remember say on December 11, 2024, another flight by Allied Air skidded off runway 22. Na so emergency services rush enter be like say dem dey enter film. Dem clear the aircraft, but wahala don plenty for this Abuja airport matter.
