Lagos, Nigeria — President Rahul Purini don share beta news about Crunchyroll wey go follow the success of their popular anime series, Solo Leveling, and the upcoming movies for Demon Slayer franchise.
For one special interview, Purini talk say the second season of Solo Leveling wey drop in January 2025 don become the top show for Crunchyroll within the first quarter of this year. The anime service, wey sabi get over 15 million subscribers, don see Solo Leveling rise as their biggest show in 2024. The success, according to Purini, na because of the strong source material wey be the popular manhwa and the quality animation from A-1 Pictures and director Shunsuke Nakashige.
“The most important thing na the theme of the story. E get many themes from gaming. If you be RPG player or you dey play first-person-shooting games, you go understand am. When people see these themes for narrative story format, e dey fresh and different; e be like language wey dem sabi, and that one make am more compelling,” Purini explain.
As fans dey vex for more episodes, people sabi dey ask, “Na Season 3 dey come?” Purini respond say, “We dey hope so. The creators of the series want to work on plenty shows. Anime dey very popular, so demand dey high, but we go find the right time to start the next season.”
Purini also don highlight how the success of Solo Leveling dey shape Crunchyroll’s programming strategy as dem dey look forward to adapting Ghost of Tsushima, the PlayStation game about Samurai warrior. “E go make us want to do more experiments. Purini dey optimistic about the movie’s success, especially after the previous films record strong openings, like Mugen Train wey start with $21.2 million and Swordsmith Village with $10.1 million.
