The Swiss produced an impressive 3-2 win over Serbia to secure their place in the next phase in Qatar, as they finished runners-up to Brazil in Group G.
Ronaldo won his first international title for Portugal at Euro 2016 but, with him turning 38 next year, this is likely to be his last chance to lift the sport’s biggest prize.
