Police say 9 persons die in separate Sabon Birni bandit attacks

Sokoto State Police Command confirmed on Thursday that nine people died in separate bandit attacks on three villages in the local government area of ​​Sabon Birni.

The command’s public relations officer, ASP Abubakar Sanusi, told reporters that the separate attacks took place on November 15, 16 and 17, 2021.

Mr Sanusi said the first attack occurred in Garin Zago in the local government area of ​​Sabon Birni, resulting in the deaths of three people while three others were kidnapped.

He said another attack took place on a vehicle in Gaji village, however, no casualties were recorded.

The police spokesman said another attack took place in the village of Sangirawa where six people were killed and many others injured by the band of bandits.

He said based on investigations into the attacks, a total of nine people died, contradicting the figures released.
