Police rescue 100 kidnapped victims in Zamfara

Zamfara Police Command successfully rescued 100 victims kidnapped by bandits in Kabaro Forest, Maru Local Government Area (LGA), state.

This is contained in a statement by state police public relations official SP Muhammad Shehu in Gusau on Tuesday.

Shehu said the rescue was carried out in conjunction with the state’s Ministry of Security and Home Affairs.

“Some recalcitrant bandits stormed the village of Manawa in the Mutunji district of Dansadau emirate in Maru LGA on June 8 and kidnapped 100 villagers, including nursing mothers, men and children.

“The victims who were in custody of their captors for 42 days were released without ransom and will be medically examined and debriefed before being reunited with their respective families.

“The state police commissioner, Mr. Hussaini Rabiu, warned recalcitrant bandits to quit crime and embrace the peace or face the full wrath of the law.

“He ensured that a kinetic and non-kinetic approach was maintained to successfully end the threat of kidnapping in the state,” he said.

Shehu added, “The command uses this medium to call on the right people in the state to support the police and other security agencies with credible information about the hiding place, movements and other activities of criminal elements,” he added. he declared. (NAA)
