1 The Zamfara Police Command said Tuesday it rescued the kidnapped victims and recovered three AK-47 rifles and ammunition.

2 State Police Commissioner Ayuba Elkanah announced this Tuesday while introducing suspects of various criminal activities in the state.

3 Elkanah further said that the command also arrested some members of the illegal Yansakai group for the alleged murder of Fulani herdsmen and other suspects in connection with criminal conspiracy and armed robbery, among other crimes.

4 Elkanah told the press conference that the command recorded tremendous achievements in ongoing police operations across the state.

5 “You will recall that last week, our operatives during the search and rescue operation along the Shinkafi axis achieved the unconditional rescue of 13 kidnapped victims, including students from the Government Day High School, Birnin Yero and the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda.

6 “On November 26, the same operatives broke into the enclaves of the kidnappers where there was an exchange of shootings and many of them escaped with possible gunshot wounds.

7 “In the search for the abandoned enclave, three AK-47 rifles with magazines containing 50 rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the site.

8 “On November 27, police officers in the Talata Mafara Local Government Area responded to a distress call regarding the report of kidnapping in the low-cost area by unidentified thugs.

9 “The Talata Mafara Divisional Police officer who led the operatives to the scene, repelled the kidnappers and rescued the aforementioned victims who had already been kidnapped by the thugs.

10 “The victims were taken to the Gusau Police Clinic for medical attention, while the police interrogated them before reuniting them with their families.

11 “During the attack, the suspects took the following items; two Techno phones and one Infinix valued at N135,000.

12 “The police and other security agencies in collaboration with the state government are working assiduously to guarantee peace and security in the state,” he added.

13 The police commissioner said his command would not tolerate any act that constitutes a violation of law and order in the state.

14 “Therefore, the blocking of any road by any community or group of people and embarking on an illegal protest by any means will not be tolerated and the perpetrators, if arrested, will be investigated to know their partners in crime. and they will be accused before the trial courts.
