Pharmaceutical company reasserts commitment to achieving zero malaria tolerance

Shalina Healthcare Limited, a pharmaceutical company, has reasserted its commitment to achieving zero tolerance against malaria in Africa.

Shalina Clifford, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Shalina Healthcare, spoke during an event organised by the company to reward winners of its “KnockOut Malaria Dance Challenge” in Lagos on Wednesday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the “KnockOut Malaria Dance Challenge” was organised by the company to raise more awareness about Malaria and how to combat it with its Shal’Artem drug.

Clifford, represented by Mr Suresh Karuppiahsamy, Consumer Head, Lagos and West Africa, said that the company would not relent in its vision to provide quality and affordable medicine for the African continent.

“Malaria still remains the number one killer in Africa and that is what we have to solve to reduce the burden of malaria in the continent.

“That is why we have come up with Shal’artem drug to beat malaria in Nigeria and Africa, at large.

“So this challenge was a viable platform for us to reach out to people that they can shake off Malaria just in three days with our Malaria drup Shal’Artem,” she said.

Speaking also , Mr Chiuba Nwaosu, the company’s Brand Manager, Analgesic and Anti-Malaria, described malaria as a pandemic in the country owing to the number of deaths.

“This challenge goes beyond a dance and funfair; It is an echo that millions of Nigerians still die as a result of Malaria.

“It’s a voice to tell Nigerians that Shal’Artem can help them shake-off malaria in three days,” he said.

Also, Animashaun Perry, a comedian popularly known as Brodashaggi and Brand Ambassador of Shal’Artem, said that he would continue to use his social media platforms to promote the fight against malaria.

“This means a lot to me, because it has to do with the fight against malaria which has killed a lot of people in the country,” he said.

Meanwhile, the winner of the challenge was presented with one million naira cash prize while the second and third places received N300,000.00 and N100,000.00 respectively.

Miss Chidinma Iheonunekwe, winner of the KnockOut Malaria Dance Challenge, thanked the company for its effort in the fight against Malaria.

“I must commend Shalina Healthcare for coming up with this programme which has help to create more awareness about Malaria on the social media.

“I am thankful for the cash prize and opportunity to be part of the challenge,” she said.

NAN reports that the winners were selected based on the number of likes their KnockOut Malara Dance Challenge attracted online.

Some creative dancers were also given N50,000.00 cash each for participating in the challenge
