Peter Obi: Tinubu’s Victory Not God’s Will
Victory Not in Line with INEC Guidelines
Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, stated that the victory of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, does not reflect God’s will. Rather, God’s desire was for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a free, fair, and credible election.

Religious Leaders are Misleading Nigerians
Obi appeared on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Monday, where he claimed that the issue with Nigeria was the acceptance of wrongdoing as God’s will. Religious leaders were misleading Nigerians, stating that what was occurring was in line with God’s will; this, he believes, is the problem.

Conducting Free and Fair Elections
Obi stated that clear laws governed the conduct of elections, and it was not God’s will for the election process to be corrupted. Nigerians must strive to achieve God’s true will, which would be for the conduct of free and fair elections.

Push for a Better Nigeria
The presidential candidate also raised the issue of Nigeria’s lack of electricity and high mortality rate, pointing out that it was not God’s will for these things to occur. Obi believes that Nigerians must strive for God’s real purpose, and not merely accept wrongdoing in the name of religion.
First Lady Describes Tinubu’s Victory as God’s Will
After the results of the presidential election were released, Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari, called Tinubu’s victory the will of God. However, Obi disputed this statement, highlighting the importance of conducting free and fair elections in accordance with INEC guidelines.
