Abuja, Nigeria – Former presidential candidate and Labour Party leader, Mr. Peter Obi, don sharp mouth around President Bola Tinubu’s trip wey dem go do for Saint Lucia. According to Obi, this trip na bad timing and insensitive move, especially as our national crises dey hot like fire.
For im post wey e drop for X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, Obi express am say e dey struggle to understand wetin dey happen for governance for dis country. Tinubu wan carry our matter enter Caribbean just because he won attend BRICS summit for Brazil. Na wah! (As if we sabi when foreign party dey sweet pass our own)
Obi talk say for the past two years, Nigeria don lose plenty people to all the wahala wey dey happen. He rightly mention say, “Without any twilight, Nigeria dey among di most insecure places for di world.” Na only him waka go Saint Lucia while everybody dey hungry and dey fear wahala for their homes. (Who go fit enjoy beach when your house dey catch fire?)
He even mention how e no fit believe say our President fit go on vacation shortly after di Lagos holiday wey just finish. To make matter worse, he dey vex say Tinubu no fit visit di areas wey suffer from flooding and killings like Minna, wey over 200 lives don go, and plenty people still dey miss. Wetin dey happen sef? (E get person wey see emergency and still carry himself go lounge?)
Obi talk say even di small size of Saint Lucia no dey compare with di bigger states wey Nigeria get like Makurdi or Minna. Lid do wey Tinubu use dem enjoy vacation while di masses dey suffer, e no make sense at all. “Na wah o, dis man dey enjoy for beach and him people dey cry,” Obi dey shout for im post.
As if that one no do, Obi also point finger say di President’s visit to Makurdi na just politically motivated show. E call am political jamboree say e no deep at all. “Na wetin we dey see?” e ask. But make we no forget say na dem same people dey suffer whenever di party dey launch their activities.
Obi don troway light on how if for any reason Tinubu go dey for Saint Lucia, make am get at least one conscience and reason go visit di areas wey dey suffer. “Leadership wey dey ignore di masses no go last,” he conclude. (E be like say na dem dey forget who really matters for this country)
To wrap up im gist, Obi don urge all di leaders to shine their eyes and focus on wetin matter, say God don give us resources for all, not just di elites. “E don time wey we stop di drift before e go consume all of us. Make we focus on lifting people come out of poverty.” (No be palliatives we need o, na real action we go sabi!)
