Palestinian shot dead after wounding Israeli soldier in hit-and-run attack
West Bank
– A Palestinian man was shot dead after wounding an Israeli soldier in a car hit-and-run attack in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, the Israeli army said in a statement.

The man drove to a gas station near the Kokhav Ya’akov settlement in the central West Bank, where he rammed his car into a female soldier, injuring her, according to the statement.

“The police in the area began to chase the suspect after the attack and neutralized him,” the Israeli army said. The Israeli military often uses the term “neutralize” to refer to the killing of Palestinians suspected of carrying out attacks.

Israel’s Magen David Adom said in a statement that the soldier suffered moderate to serious injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The incident was the latest in a wave of violence between Israelis and Palestinians, sparked by deadly nighttime raids by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank. Israel maintains that the raids are aimed at arresting suspects allegedly involved in a series of attacks against Israelis. â–
