– The Pakistan Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out 34 operations in different parts of the country over the past week, seizing 3,000.65 kg of drugs and 4,820 liters of banned chemicals, the ANF said.
During anti-narcotics operations from November 21 to 27, the force arrested 32 people, including two women, while seizing 10 vehicles used for smuggling, the ANF said in a statement on Tuesday.
In the southwestern province of Balochistan, the ANF recovered 2,583.99 kg of drugs, 3,795 liters of hydrochloric acid and 1,025 liters of acetic anhydride in eight operations. It has arrested two people involved in drug smuggling while impounding two vehicles, according to the statement.
The police force in the eastern Punjab province recovered 168.28 kg of drugs and seized three vehicles in eight operations, arresting 11 people, including a woman.
In the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it seized 242.02 kg of drugs and five vehicles, arresting 11 people in eight operations.
The ANF in the southern province of Sindh seized 1.53kg of heroin in a pair of operations while arresting three people.
From the north of the country, the ANF recovered 4.84 kg of drugs in eight operations and arrested five people for drug trafficking, including a woman.
All cases were registered and further investigations have been carried out, according to the statement. ■
