Pakistani PM offers condolences for loss of life in Indonesia earthquake

– Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed his condolences to Indonesian President Joko Widodo for the loss of life and precious property in a deadly earthquake that struck Indonesia, according to a statement issued by the prime minister’s office.


In a telephone conversation with the Indonesian President on Monday, the Pakistani Prime Minister expressed his solidarity with the Indonesian people.

“The people of Pakistan could feel the anguish of their Indonesian brothers and sisters, who recently suffered immensely due to natural calamities,” Sharif said in a statement from the prime minister’s office.

Thanking the Indonesian president for his government’s assistance to flood victims in Pakistan, the prime minister offered to extend Pakistan’s support to relief efforts in Indonesia following the deadly earthquake, the statement said.
A magnitude 5.6 earthquake that struck the Indonesian province of West Java last week left more than 300 dead, 7,729 injured and 73,693 displaced. â–
