City, State/Country – Big gists don land o! ICPC don open serious investigation wey concern prominent Nigerian lawyer, Mike Ozekhome. This one come after London property tribunal drop correct matter wey connect am and others to serious fraud and forged documents. Premium Times show say na Olanrewaju Suraj, head of Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA), na im push petition wey open this wahala.
The petition talk say Ozekhome, his pikin Osilama, plus some other people dey conspire with corrupt Nigerian officials to collect fake national identity documents just to “fraudulently claim ownership” of one house for North London. E no too sweet when you hear say respected members of the Nigerian Bar dey involved for this kind matter (which kind example una dey set for our young lawyers?).
Na wetin the judges notice for their case wey Ozekhome and Tali Shani (the supposed owner wey also no fit show face) run enter matter. Tali Shani, wey claim say she buy the property in her “hey days,” talk say Ozekhome dey try to use impostors to seize the house. But dem find out say both of dem dey drop forged documents, wey make tribunal vex well well!
On September 11, 2025, Judge Ewan Paton drop bomb for Ozekhome as he rule say hin application to register the property as hin own no gree work at all. E come clear say the whole case dey based on “forgery and deception,” e don turn small gist wey everybody dey laugh for yard.
Ozekhome go dey scratch hin head as Judge Paton confirm say the late General Jeremiah Useni, wey be strong man for Sani Abacha regime, na im get the house and the case right now dey trace back to this powerful man wey don already shuffle die.
Suraj don call ICPC make dem do proper prosecution for Ozekhome and hin associates wey dey carry unverified documents. And guess what? AGF Lateef Fagbemi don open mouth too to let everybody know say hin office dey investigate the whole matter. Na so we dey hope say this one no go end for media talk alone, make justice take its course.
The noise no go end here o! NBA come dey stand up now, don put their Anti-Corruption Committee to check case wey dey shake legal profession, and they no wan hear say this matter go just die down as media attention go fade. The integrity of legal profession for Nigeria dey really at stake, and e be like say this wahala go make dem tighten their belts. We dey watch.
