Olisa Ndah’s Agent Reveals Serie A Club’s Interest
Mike Makaab, the agent of Orlando Pirates defender Olisa Ndah, has shared that a top Serie A side were interested in signing the Nigerian International prior to the January transfer window.
Whilst Sassuolo had made their intentions clear, unfortunately, Ndah was injured.
This prevented him from taking part in the international friendlies for Nigeria against Costa Rica and Portugal in November of 2022.
Tormentingly, the 25-year-old centre-back’s injury took too long to recover from, causing Sassuolo to move on from the deal.
Elaborating on the incident, Makaab confirmed the early interest in Ndah and emphasised the injury he had sustained at the same time.
Regardless of the missed opportunity, being an international player has kept Ndah’s name in the spotlight and Makaab states that Pirates were proud to have nabbed him at the start of last season.
Ndah eventually returning to action last week in the Soweto Derby, where he unfortunately scored an own goal against his own team.
The injury setback notwithstanding, Ndah will aim to reclaim his starting position and subsequently secure a call-up for the Super Eagles Afcon Qualifier squad.
Great performances could even see Sassuolo back for him in the next transfer window, or attract the attention of other clubs from overseas.
