Delta Governor Ifeanyi Okowa congratulated former Anambra Governor Mr. Peter Obi on turning 60.

Okowa’s congratulations are contained in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba on Tuesday.

He said Obi’s tenure as governor saw an exceptional transformation of Anambra, which has remained a benchmark in the country.

He praised Obi for his exceptional leadership and immense contributions to the growth and development of the state, especially when he bequeathed many assets to his predecessor and to the state.

Okowa said Obi’s enviable success as governor came as no surprise to many, given his pedigree as an accomplished banker and expert in financial management.

He particularly praised the former governor for the physical transformation of Onitsha, the commercial hub of Anambra, until then despised by many, for the crime rate and other vices in the city.

According to Okowa, Peter Obi has shown immense courage and determination to develop Anambra despite all the battles he has fought as governor of the state.
