Oilserv Leverages SAP S / 4HANA to Power Data-Driven Decision Making
LAGOS, Nigeria, June 8, 2021 – / African Media Agency (AMA) / – Following a period of rapid growth and a historic new pipeline contract, one of Nigeria’s leading oil and gas service companies Gas was in dire need of a world-class business system.

The goal: End-to-end business transformation, with a focus on enabling all staff to operate effectively wherever they are, and improving internal efficiency and visibility into overall business performance.

Oilserv, a leading provider of integrated engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC) services in the oil and gas industry, chose SAP S / 4HANA for a sea-change in productivity and accelerated business performance.

Iheanyi Achereke, IT Manager at Oilserv, says: “We wanted to move our IT workload to the cloud, with multi-region failures and a disaster recovery strategy to ensure business continuity at all times. The core of this was our upgrade to SAP’s market-leading S4 / HANA enterprise resource planning platform, which gave us full access to SAP’s powerful built-in analytics. ”

Oilserv provides a number of complementary solutions throughout the asset and program lifecycle within the onshore, offshore and subsea market segments of the oil and gas industry. The company was incorporated in 1992 and began operations in 1995.

Achereke says the company also needed a commercial project management tool to help it manage all client projects in one system. “We were facing several challenges with our existing system, including the inability to manage all project activities, consolidate project dates, and report revenue. Additionally, we needed to better measure and manage risk and improve our change management activities. ”

Oilserv worked with its implementation partners C2G Consulting to migrate the existing SAP system to S / 4HANA with hosting on Microsoft Azure. Additionally, SAP Commercial Project Management was implemented to enhance the capabilities of project management teams.

The support of the partners was invaluable to the success of the project. According to Achereke, 95% of the migration and subsequent deployment was done remotely. “We use the SAP Activate methodology and work closely with C2G Consulting and the SAP team to ensure a seamless implementation. Daily stand-up sessions, regular public meetings and a focus on change management contributed to the overall success of the project. ”

Since migration and deployment, Oilserv has enjoyed an improved multichannel user experience thanks to the Fiori user interface. “Access to the analytics built into S / 4HANA is empowering our executives with real-time reporting and visibility into total business performance,” says Achereke. “Since implementation, we have also enjoyed faster system response times and better visibility on our business partners, including suppliers and customers.”

Enhanced project management capabilities enabled by SAP Commercial Project Management (CPM) have further improved Oilserv’s problem and risk tracking, standardized their project structures, and empowered internal teams with real-time access to data. of the project. “We now use CPM in our weekly executive-level project management meetings,” adds Achereke.

Pedro Guerreiro, Regional Director for Central Africa at SAP, says that Oilserv has taken bold steps to become a smart company with its migration to SAP S / 4HANA. “In today’s data-driven economy, organizations need full visibility into total business performance in real-time to empower decision-makers. With its historic migration to S / 4HANA, Oilserv has transformed its ability to turn data into information that can drive business performance while laying a solid foundation for future innovation and growth. ”
