Abuja, Nigeria – National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) don finally resume payment for those arrears wey dem delay for two months. Dis one happen on Wednesday, as dem begin drop the new monthly allowance of N77,000 approved by Federal Government. Na wetin everybody don dey wait for since June 3, and e don make sense!
Make we take am back small. As dem sabi the gist, na April 5, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu wey be NYSC Director-General talk say corps members wey don finish their service go chop dis new N77,000 monthly allowance. Na im say, “Once funds land, we go settle our paddy paddy. Even those wey just pass out go enjoy am, as we get their bank details.”
This na correct talk o! E still talk say make we no worry at all, because dem dey look out for our needs. (No be like some politicians wey no fit show face during election?)
Dis development confirm by PUNCH as one corps member wey no wan show face talk say, “After we don wait for two months, I no expect make I see any payment alert. But no be just about the money, e dey sweet to know say our hard work dey count.”
As e be now, dis payment go cover the time wey dey vex everybody, from July 2024 to March 2025, because dem dey complain say how government no gree pay dem after dem promise increase allowance to ease the suffering of Nigerian youth. E be like say dem finally hear us, or dem just wan cool us down make we no complain too much?
No matter wetin, make we celebrate small small! E dey show say government fit do something when dem wan. (But alas, no be every day be Christmas o!)
