The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have concluded plans to stage an awareness march against corruption.
Mre Grace Akpabio, the Ondo State Coordinator of the NYSC, stated this at a press conference on Thursday in Akure.
Akpabio said the march, which will come up on Friday, was a form of awareness campaign to the society on having a corrupt-free nation.
She said the leadership of the EFFC felt that the best way to “catch them young” was through the youths, especially corps members who would be entering the labour market soon.
“EFCC felt the best people to partner with will be the ministry of Youth and the NYSC, which will also be a way of sensitising the society on the ills of corruption,” she said.
Akpabio, therefore, charged parents to desist from the habit of cutting corners for their wards to succeed by all means.
She admonished them to rather instill fear of God in their children as part of teachings against corruption.
The Head of the EFCC team, Mr Joshua Oloye, said the walk was important because youths “are the highest in population, and it is an avenue to catch them young”.
Oloye thanked the NYSC officials for their cooperation and support in the fight against corruption in the country.
